8 oz (225g) feta cheese block, drained
4 oz (115g) cream cheese, softened to room temperature
2 tbsp extra virgin olive oil
1 clove garlic, minced
½ tsp lemon zest
Salt and freshly ground black pepper, to taste
For the Topping:
2 tbsp honey (or hot honey for a kick)
¼ tsp red pepper flakes
1 tbsp fresh dill, chopped (or substitute chives/basil)
Extra lemon zest, for garnish
For Serving:
Warm pita bread, cut into triangles
Cucumber and carrot sticks
Pita chips, toast points, or crackers
Instructions
-
Blend the Base:
Add the feta cheese, softened cream cheese, olive oil, and minced garlic to a food processor. Pulse until smooth, scraping down the sides as needed. -
Season:
Add lemon zest, salt, and pepper. Continue blending until the texture is light, fluffy, and creamy. -
Plate and Garnish:
Transfer the whipped feta to a shallow serving bowl. Swirl the top with the back of a spoon, then drizzle generously with honey. Sprinkle with red pepper flakes, chopped herbs, and a touch more lemon zest. -
Serve and Enjoy:
Pair with pita bread, veggie sticks, or crackers. Serve immediately, or refrigerate until ready to enjoy.
Notes
- Use block feta, not pre-crumbled — it blends smoother and has better flavor.
- For a lighter version, swap cream cheese for Greek yogurt.
- Add a few drops of lemon juice if you prefer a brighter, tangier flavor.
- To make it spicy, use hot honey or increase red pepper flakes.
- Want extra richness? Blend in a spoonful of Greek yogurt or sour cream.
