Description

These Salami Cream Cheese Roll-Ups are the ultimate Focus Keyword appetizer — quick to make, budget-friendly, and perfect for any gathering. The creamy texture of cheese combined with the salty, savory flavor of salami creates a mouthwatering bite everyone loves. No baking, no mess — just a simple, make-ahead recipe that always impresses.

Ingredients

250 g / 8 oz cream cheese (block-style, chilled – not spreadable)

180 g / 6 oz large sliced salami (preferably spicy or smoked)

1/4 cup baby capers, drained

2 tbsp chopped fresh herbs (parsley, chives, or basil)

Crackers or toasted baguette slices, for serving

Instructions

  1. Roll the cream cheese:
Place the cream cheese block between two large sheets of cling film. Use a rolling pin (or a can) to flatten it into a rectangle about 32 x 23 cm (13 x 9 in). Chill for 5 minutes if it softens too much.

  2. Layer the salami:
Remove the top layer of cling wrap. Arrange salami slices over the cream cheese, slightly overlapping to form a solid layer.

  3. Flip and fill:
Place another sheet of cling wrap on top, press gently, then flip so the cream cheese side faces up. Remove the top wrap and sprinkle evenly with capers and herbs.

  4. Roll it up:
Starting from the long edge, roll tightly while peeling away the cling wrap. Roll firmly to avoid air pockets.

  5. Chill:
Wrap the roll securely in the same plastic wrap, twist the ends, and refrigerate for at least 4 hours (or overnight) to firm up.

  6. Slice and serve:
Unwrap and cut into 1 cm (½ in) slices. Serve on crackers or as part of a charcuterie board.

Notes

  • Salami size: Use large round deli-style salami slices — they’re easier to roll than smaller rounds.
  • Add-ins: You can include diced pickles, roasted peppers, or a touch of Dijon mustard for extra flavor.
  • Make-ahead tip: The roll can be made up to 2 days in advance. Slice just before serving for the best presentation.
  • Serving idea: Pair with sparkling drinks or light wine — the mild sweetness complements the creamy, salty flavor perfectly.
  • Storage: Keep leftovers refrigerated in an airtight container for up to 3 days
