Description

This hearty Baked Beans with Ground Beef recipe is loaded with smoky bacon, BBQ sauce, brown sugar, and rich beef for a sweet and savory side or main dish. Perfect for potlucks, cookouts, or cozy dinners.

Ingredients

1 pound ground beef (80/20 blend recommended)

45 ounces canned original baked beans

1 large sweet onion, diced

1 tablespoon minced garlic

2 tablespoons butter

½ cup dark brown sugar

2 tablespoons honey mustard

2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce

½ teaspoon liquid smoke

1 cup BBQ sauce

1 pound bacon, cooked and crumbled

Instructions

  1.  Prepare: Preheat oven to 350°F.
  2. Sauté Base: Melt butter in large oven-safe skillet over medium heat. Add onion and cook until translucent. Add garlic and sauté until fragrant.
  3. Brown Meat: Add ground beef to skillet, mixing with onion mixture. Cook until well-browned, breaking apart as needed. Drain grease but keep beef in pan.
  4. Combine: Stir in baked beans, brown sugar, honey mustard, Worcestershire sauce, liquid smoke, BBQ sauce, and bacon until well mixed.
  5. Bake: Bake uncovered for 45 minutes until edges bubble and beans are heated through. Check at 30 minutes for doneness.
