Ingredients
1 package (14 oz) little smokies (cocktail sausages)
1 pound bacon, cut into thirds
1 cup brown sugar (light or dark)
Instructions
-
Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C).
-
Cut each bacon slice into three equal pieces.
-
Wrap each little smokie with a piece of bacon and place it seam-side down in a 13×9-inch glass baking dish.
-
Sprinkle the brown sugar evenly over the top, making sure each piece is lightly coated.
-
Cover and refrigerate for 1–2 hours for best flavor (optional but recommended).
-
Remove cover and bake uncovered for 40–45 minutes, or until the bacon is crispy and the sugar has melted into a sticky glaze.
-
Allow to cool slightly before serving. Enjoy warm!
Notes
- For an extra sweet and spicy kick, mix a pinch of cayenne pepper or chili powder into the brown sugar before sprinkling.
- Want them extra caramelized? Broil for the last 2–3 minutes — just watch carefully to avoid burning.
- Serve them fresh from the oven — the crisp bacon and gooey sugar coating taste best when warm!
- These are ideal for make-ahead party appetizers — prep in advance and bake when guests arrive.
